FLOOD alerts have been put in place by across Wrexham and Flintshire following heavy rain fall. . 

The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for rain across Wrexham and Flintshire from 12pm on Wednesday (May 22) until 12pm today (May 23). 

Heavy rainfall has led to three flood alerts being put in place by National Resources Wales (NRW).

On Wednesday, NRW warned residents in north Wales to prepare for floods, and have since issued the three flood alerts in Wrexham and Flintshire.

The three flood alerts in place are: 

River Alyn, Rossett: Parts of the village, including Burton Road, Station Road, The Copse, Chester Road and properties adjacent to Mill Lead.

A NRW spokesperson said: "A period of adverse weather is affecting this region. River levels are expected to be above normal. Flooding of Low-lying land and roads is expected. Property flooding is not expected at this time, although some localised flooding problems may result from surface water. We will continue to monitor the situation."
