A MUM has praised the "fantastic" paramedics and air ambulance crew, and Wrexham Maelor Hospital staff, following a medical emergency involving her daughter.
The Leader reported that an air ambulance had landed on The Dunks playing field in Caia Park on Monday evening.
The incident involved 14-year-old Ela Akbas - who has epilepsy and had fallen down the stairs whilst suffering a seizure.
She was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital but is thankfully back home and is on the mend having spent a night at the hospital.
Her mum, Paula, said: "Ela has both epileptic and non-epileptic seizures and it can be very hard to identify the difference between them. But due to her having neck and back pain we rang for help.
"She is OK and currently home resting following overnight observation at the Maelor. Thankfully, she's just been left sore and bruised - there are no other injuries."
Paula praised those who cared for and treated and her daughter, adding: "I just want to say how fantastic both the ambulance and air ambulance crews and the staff at the Maelor were with her - despite the pressure they are all under.
"I can't thank them enough and for putting the family at ease from start to finish.
"Both the ambulance and air ambulance's response was so swift, and the nurses at the Maelor were brilliant."
