THE WREXHAM Police football team's latest match saw them repay the efforts of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to support the community.

The team holds a number of charity matches throughout the year to help raise money for some very worthwhile causes.

Their latest clash saw them take on the 'Happy Somedays' side at Airbus Broughton on Sunday (May 19).

That was in order to help raise money for the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia and the BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver.

Those are the hometowns of Wrexham AFC's co-chairmen Rob and Ryan who, as well as putting the city on the map, have spent thousands on helping the community.

As a way of repaying their efforts, Wrexham Police FC decided to support two good causes overseas in Rob and Ryan's respective countries.

And, the charity match raised a total of $425.

The team wrote: "To all our friends in the USA and Canada, thank you for your continued support.

"Today (May 19), we raised $425 for children's hospitals in Philadelphia and Vancouver.

"Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have done a great deal for Wrexham, we just wanted to give something back."

Wrexham Police FC is formed of off-duty officers who play football to break down barriers and raise money for charity.

Since forming, they have raised a sum of £43,512 for charity (correct at time of writing).
