A FLINTSHIRE animal rescue centre is appealing to the public to find two beautiful dogs their forever home.

Almost Home Dog Rescue, based in Mold, provides a safe haven for abandoned dogs before uniting them with their new home and owner.

It also aims to support and educate the next generation of dog owners to prevent an increase in the number of pets being carelessly neglected.

Anyone interested in the following pups should fill out the adoption form here.

Meet Chocolate

Sadly this girl has come into the care of Almost Home Dog Rescue due to her owners ill-health. This is an extremely sad situation but the decision was made with Chocolate's best interest at heart.

She's a two-year-old dachshund. She's previously lived with another dog without an issue and since coming to the shelter she’s been in foster with other dogs and dog savvy child.

Chocolate is an outgoing girl who loves learning and going out on adventures. She's a big dog in a little body who enjoys a fuss and cuddles but equally loves being out and about.

She’s passed a full health check, and has been vaccinated, fleas/wormed and spayed. She was good being handled during her assessment and was greeting everyone in the waiting room.

Chocolate is house-trained and happy to be left for short periods of time. She's better being left when she has another canine friend with her. She's also crate trained and a great eater.

Meet Rudi

Rudi sadly found himself as a stray and no one came forward to claim him. He's around 5 years old and is a dachshund.

Since arriving in the care of Almost Home, he’s been nothing but perfect. He went in to foster and hasn’t looked back. He's settled in like he has always been there.

Rudi is in foster with two other dogs and he loves it. He can be a little shy around men to start but soon trusts. Once he released he was allowed in the house he was delighted. He sniffed every corner and then fell asleep with the dogs all curled up together.

He travels well and walks well on lead. Rudi loves the garden and his walks. It’s clear someone once did training and socialised him. He is also happy to travel and sleep in a crate too.

At the vets he loves all the attention he was getting in the waiting room and meeting everyone - both human and canines. He weighs 10.7kg, has started his vaccinations, been flead and wormed and neutered.

Rudi is going to make a great addition to someone’s life. He could live with or without other dogs and possibly with dog savvy older children, as he can get startled at some fast movements, however is improving quickly.
