A COUNCILLOR and his children are sleeping rough for the night to raise funds towards free amusement rides in town.
Daniel Thomas, a Holywell town councillor, will be doing a 24-hour sleep out on the streets with his four children on Thursday (May 16).
They are doing so to raise funds towards getting free children's rides at the re-launch event for Holywell's weekly street market on May 30.
Cllr Thomas, who was once homeless, has launched a GoFundMe page relating to the sleep out, which has so far raised £280. "I want my kids to kind of experience how some people live to continue raising awareness", he said.

The event is being organised to help boost the market and encourage more traders, and customers, to attend.
It will run between 9am and 3pm there will be music, a car boot sale, bucking bronco and more.
Cllr Thomas said said: "It's been tough financially for a lot of people recently especially over Christmas.
"It will be lovely to give the little ones a day when they will be able to go on all rides without parents worrying about the cost."
