POLICE are to patrol shops and will be taking "robust action" after reports of high school students shoplifting.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Flintshire North policing team released an overview of what officers had been dealing with over the preceding 24 hours.
In that time, 41 incidents were reported - including the Neighbourhood Policing Team working in conjunction with the RSPCA on Monday to remove a dog from an address as "it had been abandoned."
A spokesman for the team said: "Speaking of dogs, we continue to receive and appreciate your information regarding XL Bullys.

"We do have a number of responsible owners in the area who have registered their dogs correctly and follow the legislation.
"We have received multiple reports of shoplifting by high school students on their way home over the past few weeks.
"We understand the shops have been addressing it directly with the school, however this is now escalating with students becoming aggressive and abusive towards staff.
"Therefore Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling the shops - and taking robust action."
