POLICE have revealed why the A483 in Wrexham was closed yesterday (May 6)
North Wales Police made the closure announcement just before 5pm on Monday, with huge traffic delays in the area as a result.
A spokesman said at that point: "A483 CLOSURE between J4 and J5 in both directions, ongoing incident, emergency services at scene dealing, expect delays."
Police were joined at the scene by colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service, but North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were not in attendance.
The road was closed for over an hour with a Traffic Wales spokesman confirming the road had been reopened just after 6pm. They said : "Road has now reopened in both directions. Heavy congestion remains in the area."
This morning (May 7), a North Wales Police spokesperson confirmed that the road had been closed due to a "concern for safety incident".
