A FLINTSHIRE veterinary practice has become one of the first Pet Blood Bank donation sites in north Wales.
The Pet Blood Bank is a charity that supports vets across the UK by providing vital blood supplies to pets in need.
Following the success of the first donation session in March this year, the Daleside Vets branch in Penyffordd has now become one of the first to receive a donation station.
A second date for the Pet Blood Bank to return has already been confirmed for Saturday, June 2.
The criteria for dogs to become a blood donor is:

Fit, happy and healthy

Fully vaccinated
-
Over 25kg
-
Between 1 and 8 years old
-
Not on any medication (Other than parasite treatment and Propalin)

Dog donors will receive a Full Yearly Blood Profile worth £130, a health check at every donation and lots of treats, toys and attention.
The Penyfford Branch has recently received a large extension which was completed in September 2023.
This included two new consultation rooms, x-ray facilities, kennels and cattery for their inpatients and a state of the art operating theatre where they are now able to offer laparoscopic surgeries.
