A HISTORIC Wrexham church has held its final service after 150-years proudly serving the community.
St James Church situated on Rhosddu Road, Wrexham, closed its doors on Sunday, April 21 following a beautiful service held by Reverend Sarah Errington, Vicar at St James’ Rhosddu and St John’s Rhosnesni.
She said: "The last service in St James’ was a celebration of the life of the church and the people who have been involved in the church and its community over the years.
"Photographs of events at the church over the years were shown before the service and a film with people sharing their memories was included during the service. These photographs and the film will be available to see again shortly."
An online book of memories is also being created so people can share their own memories and photographs.

The community church received a wonderful turn-out. People gathered to light candles and share fond memories of their time there after contributing to its heritage for many years.
All plans for the church are currently up in the air, according to a spokesperson of the Diocese of St Asaph.
The Representative Body of the Church in Wales will take over the management and care of the building in the meantime with regular inspections and essential maintenance.
