Rob McElhenney has invited two NFL stars for a tour of Wrexham following an "unbelievably wrong" comment about Welsh people.

The Reds co-chairman has extended an invite to American football stars Jason and Travis Kelce to visit Wrexham and get to know the people of the town.

Rob's invite comes following comments made by the former Philadelphia Eagles centre Jason on the brothers' podcast 'New Heights'.

When discussing ex-Wales wing Louis Rees-Zammit's move to Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs, the pair got onto the topic of Welsh people.

Which led to Jason describing the Welsh as "posh, rich and upper class".

Safe to say that he was quickly corrected on social media, before he admitted he may of got his initial preconceptions wrong.

Jason said on X (formerly Twitter): "Yea, I’ve come to understand, I was very incorrect on this. Based on further assessment since these incorrect statements, not sure why I had these preconceptions in my mind, but I have found that the Welsh seem exactly like my kind of people. Happy to be incredibly wrong."

Kelce played for the Philadelphia Eagles (Rob's team) for 13 years, which led to the pair becoming friends.

And Rob was quick to step in and confirm Kelce was wrong, before offering him and brother Travis, who is currently dating Taylor Swift (good friends with Ryan Reynolds' wife Blake Lively), to Wrexham.

The Always Sunny star replied to Jason's comments, by saying: "Yes, incredibly wrong. I should show you around someday. I might know a few people. See for yourself."

The invitation appeared to have gone down well as the New Heights podcast responded by hinting at an episode live from Wrexham.

Could the Kelce brothers be the next star guests to the SToK Cae Ras?
