A MAN who 'acted entirely within the moment' when he punched another man in the toilets of a Wrexham venue has been fined.
Luke Bednarek, of Tegid in Acrefair, appeared before Mold Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday, April 18.
The 31-year-old faced a charge of common assault and, having initially pleaded not guilty on August 9 last year, he later changed his plea to guilty on the day a trial was set for.
Jemma Gordon, prosecuting, told the court that the incident in question took place on July 31 of last year.
That night, Bednarek was at the Karaoke Bar on Abbot Street in Wrexham.
At that time, he was on bail for other matters and on a community order, which included a condition not to approach Mark Goodrum - the complainant in this case.
However, the pair encountered one another in the toilets of the venue that night, the court heard.

As the defendant went to leave the toilets, Mr Goodrum was said to have 'blocked' his path.
That led to Bednarek throwing a punch which caused the complainant 'pain' and 'swelling'.
That was just two weeks after Bednarek was given the previous community order mentioned, the court was told.
Mr Goodrum reported the incident to both the Karaoke Bar's security and police that night.
When questioned, Bednarek - who had been drinking that night - said that he 'hadn't assaulted anybody'.
In a victim personal statement, Mr Goodrum said the incident had left him with an 'inflamed black eye' and had also had a financial impact by effecting his work.
Ember-Jade Wong, defending, said that Bednarek had acted 'impulsively' and added that the incident was 'short-lived'.
It was said that the defendant had since shown remorse and accepted he had acted in a 'foolish' manner.
Judge Niclas Parry sentenced Bednarek to five months in custody, which was suspended for 12 months.
He will also be on a curfew between the hours of 6.30pm and 6.30am for a period of four months and will have to pay Mr Goodrum a sum of £750 in compensation.
