NEWSROOMS have certainly changed over the years and when Covid happened we, like all businesses, had to adapt.

Our staff became home based, unable to go out and about due to the travel restrictions and everyone making sure they were staying safe and staying at home.

Post Covid we often get asked:

Do your journalists get out and about to report on stories or are they stuck behind desks?

Here on the Leader we like our reporters to get out and about as much as possible.

We cannot attend every event but we try and get out in the community, meet our readers and report on the things that matter to you the most.

Be it Wrexham AFC gaining promotion, a street market being held, festival, council meetings, court coverage, football matches and school visits and many others - we try to get there in person.

Our journalists provide an important service because they're responsible for investigating events and reporting on them objectively. Their work helps the public stay informed and can sometimes, with investigative journalism, expose injustices or wrongdoings

With a lot of our information now coming from social media it is tempting to become stuck behind a desk but it is vital as THE local news outlet for North East Wales we get out and meet the people who are making a real difference in their communities.

There are so many wonderful things going on in the Wrexham and Flintshire region that needs to be shouted about so please let us know what you have got going on.

We can't promise to be able to attend every event but will do our very best and if we cant make it then we will still be able to feature you.

Just make sure you get in touch via our Facebook page, news@leaderlive.co.uk or by calling 01352 707707 and chose the editorial option.
