A HIKING group aimed at improving men's mental health is hoping to reach more members.
Hike Club was set up in summer 2023 by Anthony Hett. Originally from Connah's Quay, the new dad moved back to the area from London last year.
Now in Buckley, Anthony started the men-only walking group Hike Club, with the aim of creating a group for men to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.
The 40-year-old said: "I started the group last August, in an attempt to do more walking myself, while also helping to improve the mental and physical health of men in the local area, at a time when a lot of men are struggling with their mental health due to the cost of living crisis and the pressures of modern life.

"Hike Club is an opportunity for men to get together outdoors, get some fresh air and some exercise but more importantly, it is a safe place to talk about any problems they are having with family, friends, work, money etc, safe in the knowledge that what is said at Hike Club stays at Hike Club.
"Men aren't great at talking, and Hike Club is a good opportunity to get away from things and open up but only if they want to. If they just want to walk, that's fine too."
Hike Club's next outing is on Sunday, April 14, meeting at Loggerheads Country Park car park (CH7 5LH) at 10am. Another walk is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, from Erddig car park (LL13 0YT), at 10am.
