DARTS sensation Luke Littler was in north Wales over the weekend to show his support for a town football club.

Mold Alexandra FC took on Llandudno in the Welsh Blood Service Northern League Cup final at Denbigh's Central Park ground on Saturday (April 6).

And a stunning second half performance from the Flintshire club saw them come out on top 3-1 in the end.

Goals from Alex Smith (61'), Jake Roberts (66') and young substitute Eric Durnell (88') did the damage with Ethan Roberts adding a stoppage time consolation goal for Llandudno.

A reported crowd of over 600 people watched on in Denbigh, including Littler who sported a Mold Alex hat in support of the club.

After the match, 'The Nuke' posed for pictures with the club's players and staff members.

17-year-old Littler rose to fame during the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Championships held at the end of 2023.

He made it all the way to the final before eventually losing out to Luke Humphreys - who will also be paying a visit to north Wales later this year.

Now playing in the 2024 Premier League Darts, he is being hotly tipped to be the sports' next dominant figure for years to come, following in the footsteps of huge names like Phil Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen.

Commenting on Littler's visit to their home ground, Denbigh Town FC said: "A pleasure to welcome Premier League leader Luke Littler to Central Park this afternoon as his Mold Alex side lifted the WBS Northern League Cup."

Mold Alexandra FC added that they now need some further support to be able to reach the national final.

They said: "Yesterday was an amazing day for Mold Alex FC, with an exceptional performance on the pitch, the club won The Welsh Blood Services League Cup-Northern Section.

"We now go through to The Welsh Blood Services National Final and we need a sponsor please.

"Mold Alex is a community run club with a small committee of volunteers who give their time up relentlessly, for the first team, reserves and our 600 child junior section.

"We don’t have a huge sponsor who ploughs money into the club, everything the club earns is through the bar and the cafe. We struggle to survive with rising electric bills of over £1,000 a month, refs and Lino fees, maintenance costs and constant vandalism.
