THERE are set to be no planned closures on the A483/A5 this weekend amid forecast high winds.
As Storm Kathleen prepares to hit north Wales, the Welsh Government have confirmed they don't plan on closing the Dee and Ceiriog viaducts as of yet.
Winds of up to 45mph are forecast in Wrexham, with strong gusts often leading to the closures of the A483 and A5 viaducts between Ruabon and Halton.
Residents in Llangollen and Overton endured "traffic nightmares" during Storm Jocelyn in January, with the Newbridge road closure forcing motorists into hours of delays.
The B5605 link road, which is the main diversion when the A483 is closed between Ruabon and Gledrid has been closed since a landslide in 2021.
Work has yet to start on its repairs, despite funding being secured two years ago.

Despite the high winds being forecast over the weekend, there are no plans to close the road according to the Welsh Government, but that could change.
A Welsh Government spokesperson added: "There are no planned restrictions or closures for the Dee and Ceiriog viaducts based on the forecast.
"As always conditions will be monitored and if restrictions are needed these will be communicated via Traffic Wales."
