A MODERN and unique tap room is launching in the heart of Wrexham this month.

Owner of 'Bank Street Social' and Wrexham Councillor Andrew Gallanders is starting a new venture crafting specialty beers.

He has now confirmed 'Rough Hands Tap' will open to the public on Saturday, April 13 from 11am.

Located in Chapter Court on Queen Street, Andrew says he has been in discussion with the "incredible" landlords of the building since 2019, revealing how much time, effort and commitment has gone into the business launch.

He said: "We have been running Bank Street Social since 2017. When the pandemic hit and closed the coffee shop for trade we quickly pivoted into home delivery. Since then the beer element of the business has gone from strength to strength.

"For the last year we have been looking for a premises in the town centre. We were lucky to have a site visit of the new development, Chapter Court.

"The complex had a perfect unit that we just knew we needed to be apart of the new development.

"Wrexham has an exciting growing craft beer scene from The Magic Dragon to The Drunk Monk and many other premises.

"We can't wait to join this cohort of establishments and give the people of Wrexham more places to enjoy their time in the town centre."

Open from Thursday to Sunday 11am-11pm, the business will eventually host themed nights and events including a poetry evening.

Andrew added: "There will also be two taps on a constant rotation. We want people to come in and each time there's beers they know and they love, but also there is something new to keep them interested."

Going forward, Andrew confirms there will eventually be a communal space outside the brewery which will feature a stage for social gatherings.

There are also fantastic pop-up events located inside Chapter Court so there is always plenty on offer in addition to the new tap room.
