THE RELEASE date for the third season of the hugely-popular Welcome to Wrexham series has been delayed.

The popular series, produced by FX, is all about the football club and the community of Wrexham.

It shines a spotlight on the takeover of the Reds by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, as well as some of the greatest characters in the Wrexham community and so much more.

When the first season launched in 2022, it was met with an incredible reception around the world.

So much so, that new Wrexham fans have began to follow the club from countries as far away as the likes of USA and Brazil.

Welcome to Wrexham's popularity was proved further as it won an incredible five Emmy awards back in January.

The third season of the documentary was scheduled to air from mid-April, however fans will now have to wait a little longer for its return.

The show was originally set to premiere its third season from April 18, but the release has now been pushed to May 2.

FX has not yet given a reason for the change to the date.

The series will again air via Disney Plus and Hulu and the premiere will showcase the first two episodes.

A picture shared by Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney to X (previously Twitter) confirmed the change.

The date change means that the new series will launch after the EFL League Two season has ended - providing that Wrexham go up automatically as they hope to do.

The Reds are firmly in the running for back-to-back promotions and a rise up to EFL League One after a fine campaign so far.
