A FORMER Diocese of Wrexham church has been sold for over £460,000 at auction.
Church of Christ the King is situated on Holt Road in Rossett.
An exceptional opportunity to purchase the site - a prefabricated concrete sectional building with its adjoining carpark - came up earlier this year.
The building offered brilliant residential development potential to its buyer, subject to planning.
The guide price was between £325,000 and £350,000.
But, at a Fisher German auction held on February 29, after 56 bids, the final and decisive bid to purchase came in at £466,000.

The property - formerly a Catholic church - is described as being 'suitable for a variety of uses'.
It sits within the newly adopted Wrexham Local Development Plan and sits in approximately 0.53 of an acre in total.
The building itself extends to approximately 158 sq m (1698 sq ft).
