A dangerous driver is to be sentenced after he admitted seriously injuring another man.
George Simons, of Mold Road in Stansty Park, Wrexham, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Thursday morning.
The 37-year-old admitted that on April 5 last year, he caused serious injury to a man named Ian Belcher by driving a Mercedes van dangerously on the A5119 at Flint Mountain.
Simons also admitted an offence of drug driving.
Judge Rhys Rowlands ordered the preparation of a pre-sentence report prior to sentencing, which will take place on May 1.
He told the defendant: "You've pleaded guilty - and that's important.

"It attracts credit to reduce the sentence the court will impose on the next occasion.
"I do order a pre-sentence report in your case and I appreciate you'll have been advised this is a very serious matter.
"You mustn't read anything into the fact I'm ordering a report or granting you bail."
The Judge imposed an interim driving ban ahead of the sentencing hearing.
