A 10-year-old student at a school in Wrexham scooped Primary School Pupil of the Year at the Leader Education Awards.
David Puskepalis, from Victoria CP in Wrexham, was handed the prize at the awards night at the Village Hotel, Ewloe on March 14.
The judges were looking for someone who had applied themselves to every task and sets a good example to other pupils. Had a fun-loving personality and is able to get along with teachers whilst being respectful.
They were also looking for someone with a sense of responsibility and who can be trusted, as well as playing an active role in all areas of school life and is always willing to lend a hand.
In his nomination, David was described as a "great young man" who is "extremely intelligent, talented, competitive" in every aspect.
The 10-year-old is in year 5 and "loves" going to school and learning new things.
David has a strong interest in flags as well as the Welsh language, which he is fluent in. He forms part of the school council at Victoria CP and also helps out as a digital leader.
As well as his contributions to the school, David also had a starring role in the annual Christmas concert where he played the role of Scrooge.
While he enjoys playing football, David's dream is to become a pilot and, has started taking the first steps in achieving that target.
After collecting his award at the event in Ewloe, David said: "I'm really happy, it's a big thing for me.
"I really didn't expect this and can't get over how many people are here.
"I've started going on my first set of flight simulators. I'm not there yet, but I will be soon."
