In 2021, plans were put forward by ProCare Wales to convert the building, used by Rydal Penrhos School as a boarding house for boys, into apartments for young adults with autism, learning and challenging behaviours.
ProCare had hoped to establish the specialist, community based service and provide care for male and female clients with significant developmental disabilities.
The development was approved [subject to conditions].
