A POPULAR food business is set to move into the former site of Gusto d'Italia in Ty Pawb.
The Wing King, based inside Ty Pawb, opened its doors in August 2022 and has confirmed it will be moving to the site of the former Italian in the coming months.
Prior to starting the business, owner, Andrew Boycott, was a chef for 23 years at various establishments in Chester - most recently at The Gathering restaurant.
When launching the The Wing King, Andrew promised to deliver "the perfect chicken wing".
After Gusto d'Italia closed its doors late last month, Andrew decided it was time to move into the empty site and develop the business.
The move, which is hopeful to take place in June, will also allow Andrew to extend his opening hours.
He said: "The Wing King has gone down a treat with people in Wrexham.
"I find these types of set ups, in Ty Pawb ideal to 'test the waters' to see if my product would work.
"I've had brilliant support from Ty Pawb over the past 18 months and after Gusto closed, I had talks with management about moving.

"To move into my first restaurant after opening 18 months ago shows how food courts work and how Ty Pawb is a vital asset in the city.
"Moving into our new restaurant means we can open late into the evenings and it's just another step forward in the growth of 'The Wing King'.
"All this wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the support from customers and Ty Pawb."
