AN INQUEST has been held into the death of a man in Flintshire who suffered from life-long mental health issues.
Marius Kasmocius, 31, of no fixed abode, died on October 30, 2023, in a wooded area off Dock Road in Connah's Quay.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Friday (March 8) an inquest was held into Mr Kasmocius’ death.
It heard that he had struggled with his mental health since childhood.
The inquest heard Mr Kasmocius was discovered by a dog walker.
Police attended and the death was confirmed at 3.24pm.
The inquest also heard there was evidence of someone living in the location where Mr Kasmocius' body was discovered.
A pathologist gave the cause of death following a post-mortem examination as hanging.
Toxicological analysis found that Mr Kasmocius had consumed amphetamine and cannabis.
A statement by registered nurse Scott Watson confirmed Mr Kasmocius was first referred to mental health services in Lithuania aged 10 before moving to Cheshire in 2019 where he was referred to the Cheshire and Wirral Mental Health Services NHS Foundation.
He experienced psychotic episodes and displayed symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia, as well as there being symptoms of ADHD.
Senior coroner for North Wales East and Central John Gittins recorded a conclusion of suicide.
Despite Mr Kasmocius not leaving a note, he was found in an area where he would not have expected to have been discovered, and he determined he intended to take his own life.
