FOOTBALL FANS will have the opportunity to meet a north Walian legend of the game in Wrexham this week.

The Yellow and Blue Hub is hosting an evening with Neville Southall from 8pm on Friday night (March 8).

The event will be in aid of Nev's close friend and local poet Evrah Rose, who suffered a stroke last year.

Evrah also lives with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome - a condition which affects your skin, joints and blood vessel walls - and just recently discovered she also has a hole in her heart.

Tickets to the event with Southall are still available to buy here.

The Yellow and Blue Hub team said: "Come join us for a special evening with the legendary Neville Southall! Get ready for a night of laughter, stories, and maybe even some football tips."

They added: "This is a fundraising event, as one of our close friends Evrah Rose, is navigating a serious personal health journey, involving specialists, travelling and overnight stays.

"Not only does Nev champion social equality, working hard amongst the community, and Wales in general, the guy comes with a history in football for Everton and Wales that’s unrivalled, one of the best keepers of his generation, and a lovely guy too!"

In his playing days, Southall - who is from Llandudno - was regarded as one of the best goalkeepers around.

He earned 92 caps for Wales and was best known for his time spent with Everton in the top-flight of English football.

Now 65, 'Nev' has become something of a fierce campaigner, frequently taking to Twitter to speak out against inequality.

Tickets to the event in Wrexham start from £13.70.
