A WREXHAM artist has completed his latest artwork piece outside the city’s Turf pub.
Liam Stokes-Massey is known for his skill and talent across Wrexham, having completed several murals and illustrations inspired by the football club.
His latest project is extra special being illustrated on a fence outside the Turf pub next to the Stok Cae Ras on Mold Road, a prime location for local and international fans visiting the Racecourse.
Following much speculation as to what the illustration could be, the final design has been revealed!
Titled ‘The Boss’, the mural showcases enthusiastic Wrexham AFC manager Phil ‘Parky’ Parkinson who became manager of the clubin July 2021.
He has guided the team to its outstanding League Two promotion in April 2023 after 15 frustrating years out of the football league.
Throughout Phil’s management, he’s worked alongside co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney featuring in the hit docuseries ‘Welcome to Wrexham.’
On Friday (March 1), Phil also met His Royal Highness Prince William who visited the football ground and Turf pub as part of his Wrexham trip to celebrate St David's Day.
The crowds of people who gathered outside the Racecourse complimented Liam on his work while getting to see him in action.
Liam said: "It was a gruelling week in the cold and wet but I got there in the end and am really happy with the finished piece.
"A crazy week where I met and spoke to so many people from all over, including some new friends from Patagonia who I spoke Welsh with.
"A huge thanks to Wayne and his staff who kept me warm with cups of tea and sausage baps!
On the project, Liam worked with Wrexham AFC photographer Rob Stead who frequently provides the inspiration images for the illustrations taken during matches at the Racecourse.
