A WREXHAM leisure centre will remain 'temporarily closed' following a fire, staff have confirmed.
Two fire engines from Wrexham attended a "minor electrical fault" incident at Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre in Gwersyllt on Monday evening (February 26).
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called just after 6pm due to an electrical panel overheating.
The leisure centre was evacuated as a precaution while the fire service dealt with the incident and a stop call was made at 7.15pm.
In a post on social media on Monday night, the leisure centre apologised for the closure and any inconvenience caused.

They have since issued an update this morning (February 27) following the fire.
Taking to the Gwyn Evans Leisure and Activity Centre's Facebook page, they said: "We are really sorry but we are temporarily closed.
"We will update as soon as we know a planned opening time."
A spokesperson for Freedom Leisure, who operate Gwyn Evans Leisure and Activity Centre, said: “We’d like to thank our colleagues at the leisure centre for following the correct procedures and performing a precautionary evacuation while the fire brigade investigated.
"The safety of all our customers and our colleagues is always the priority. We have been advised to keep the centre closed for now and we will update all our customers when we know we can re-open.
"In the meantime, all our customers will be welcomed at any of our Wrexham centres such as Queensway, Chirk and Waterworld.”
