A AFC-obsessed couple from Wrexham are set to feature on BBC's 'Dare to Dance'.
On July 8, 2023 Debbie and Chris Roberts had the wedding of their dreams with photos at the Stok Cae Ras, Wrexham.
The football-mad couple could not think of anything better than to declare their love for each other at their favourite place.
While the ceremony took place at the Wynstay Hotel, Ruabon, the couple soon moved the affair to the racecourse ground.
For over four years, Debbie has battled stage four cancer which prompted the couple to bring their wedding forward.
Wanting a memorable first dance, Debbie got in touch with the hit BBC show 'Dare to Dance' presented by Strictly Come Dancing professional and cancer warrior Amy Dowden, explaining her journey and reasons for wanting to create memories for her loved ones.
Debbie said: "The response off the producers was instant. They said they'd been actively looking for a wedding story as Amy was desperate to teach someone their first dance.
"We first met with Amy at the Racecourse on May 15 last year, just before Amy's own cancer diagnosis. We started with a local dance teacher while Amy underwent her own treatment.
"There were lots of tears and we had to strip back the choreography due to my lack of ability and pain from the treatment I was on.
"But we achieved it and had the most amazing wedding day, photos at the Racecourse and even a personal message off Rob McElhenney.
"At night time, we surprised our friends and family with Amy introducing us for our first dance. It was magical and we did it to say thank you to all who stood by us and supported me during my cancer journey."
In the episode which will air on March 1, Amy pulls out all the stops to make their dream happen, including roping in her dress maker Carol to create a dance costume for a football-themed wedding.

Amy also arranged a special rehearsal with her friend and fellow Strictly pro dancer Dianne Buswell to give them a final confidence boost and last-minute pep talk.
Chris and Debbie admit the hardest part was having to keep the filming and dance rehearsals a secret from their nearest and dearest. However, it was all worth it as they truly created memories to last a lifetime.
Their full episode, Series 2 Episode 4, will be available to watch on BBC on March 1 at 7pm.
