ONE OF the stars of one of the UK's most popular sitcoms of the 2000's is heading to Wrexham in April.

BBC series Gavin and Stacey is a firm favourite among many a comedy-lover.

Fans of the show were sent into meltdown earlier this week as rumours circulated that another Christmas special was on the cards for the show for the end of this year.

And while Ruth Jones (Nessa) has sadly since shut down those rumours, there is another way that fans of the show can get their fix of all things Gavin and Stacey right here in Wrexham.

That is because the Wales Comic Con team has confirmed that Mathew Horne (aka Gavin Shipman) will be attending their event this year.

The programme ran for three series and received widespread critical acclaim.

Horne and fellow cast members then returned to their roles for the Christmas special of 2019.
