SAFETY concerns have been raised over a stretch of Flintshire road after the latest of a number of recent crashes there.
Following the incident, Jennifer Hulme, who owns a bed and breakfast just off that stretch of road, has called for a reduction in the speed limit.
She said: "We have worked out there have been over eight accidents over the last few years in the same area, including three in the last three months. It always seems to be in the same place, they are coming round the corner from Connah's Quay and hitting the bus stop on our side of the road.
"There must be an issue with the road at this point for accidents to keep happening. It is it’s very frightening trying to cross with children from properties on the farm side, on to the coastal path which runs alongside the road. I worry about walkers and cyclists who stay with us about them crossing the road."

Jennifer added: "It is a 70mph zone, but a lot of vehicles seem to be going a lot faster trying to make up time because of the 20mph in residential areas. The speed limit needs to be reduced.
"The speed limit on the road was reduced in Bagillt, but it took somebody to be killed before that happened. I just hope it doesn't repeat itself here."
Anthony Stanford, Transport Manager, said: “The causation factors associated with the recent road traffic collision are not yet known, so it would not be appropriate for Flintshire County Council to comment until investigations have been concluded by North Wales Police.
“Flintshire’s road network is continually monitored to ensure that patterns of road traffic collisions involving injuries can be identified and acted upon if intervention levels are met.”
