TOUCHING tributes have been paid to a much-loved and dearly missed Wrexham landlord.
John Michael Owen Green, born September 25, 1946 in Shropshire died on December 18, 2023.
A beloved father to Samantha and Jonathan and grandfather to Callum, Thomas, Charlie and Daniel, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
John was a much-loved landlord of the Cross Keys' Inn, Ponciau in Wrexham, in the years 1982 onward.
He was also the landlord of the Royal Oak in Ponciau in the 90s, later to retire.
John's wake is taking place this afternoon at the Rhos British Legion Club in Johnstown at 2pm for anyone wishing to pay their respects (February 9).
Samantha, John's daughter, said: "My dad was always a people's man and was very much liked in the community.
"He loved to help out by organising charitable events in the pub and with other publicans. He enjoyed being involved with the rugby team, dominoes team and darts. He always loved to travel and visit new places.
"My dad was very much a joker and would join in with funny events to raise money like the pram race done in the 90s, and I am sure there are many more stories to be told in the village about my dad.
"He was my biggest hero. I say this because we are both cancer warriors, my father lived with Leukaemia and was the greatest warrior of all time so when I got diagnosed in 2020 his wise words helped me fight the fight and am now in remission."

He will be dearly missed by family, friends and the Rhos community.
