A POLICE Sergeant has encouraged members of the public to sign up to a free crime prevention and information service.
The call comes from Sgt David Smith, who recently took up the role of Deeside's Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant.
As part of his efforts to increase community engagement, Sgt Smith is encouraging residents to join the North Wales Police Community Alerts platform.
The website, which can be found here, provides the latest advice from local officers, appeals regarding crimes and information about ongoing policing campaigns such as crime prevention and home security.
It also gives members of the public a way to share concerns about issues in their area.
Sgt Smith said: "I'd like to encourage people to register to our Community Alerts.
"I will be increasing our visibility and also accessibility - so along with attending community groups and events, this messaging service helps our team to connect with the wider community so that we can get a better understanding about what issues or concerns they might have.
"North Wales Community Alert is a community messaging service brought to you by North Wales Police and partners, to give you up to date information about crime, engagement events, appeals, prevention advice and general policing activity in your local area.
"Registration is completely free, quick and simple.
"It also gives you an opportunity to provide feedback to your local neighbourhood police team on the issues that matter most to you, helping us to work together to make North Wales the safest place in the UK."
