POLICE are warning Wrexham residents of a "suspicious" cold caller in Wrexham.
North Wales Police said it received a report shortly after 5pm on Wednesday (February 7) of a "suspicious man" knocking on doors in the area of Vernon Street, Wrexham and attempting to sell items from his backpack to residents.
A spokesperson said: "Officers will increase patrols in the area and our advice is to always politely say 'no, thank you' and close the door to this kind of visitor.
"A general rule of thumb to follow is always keep all your doors locked even if you are in the house."
Rhosddu councillor, Marc Jones, took to Facebook to warn residents. He said the cold caller reportedly states he has just been released from prison.
