WREXHAM AFC co-chairman Ryan Reynolds says 'tears' were shed as Deadpool 3 wrapped up filming this week.

These days, the Canadian actor is often mostly associated with his takeover of the north Wales club alongside friend and fellow actor Rob McElhenney.

And the pair have taken the Reds to incredible heights already, earning promotion to the EFL and creating their very own Welcome to Wrexham documentary in the process.

But, later this year Ryan will be returning to our screens as the much-loved Deadpool in the third instalment of the popular films.

The likes of Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and self-confessed Wrexham AFC fan Hugh Jackman will star alongside him in the hotly-anticipated movie.

Filming for Deadpool 3, directed by Shawn Levy, wrapped up earlier this week.

Ryan said that it was 'mostly tears' for him as it came to an end, having had the opportunity to film alongside his 'closest pals'.

The movie is due to be released in July.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: "The suit hides the blood. Also sweat... But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it's mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and @RealHughJackman ... all under the stalwart leadership of @ShawnLevyDirect

"I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn't happen very often. See ya July 26th..."

Deadpool 3 sees Jackman return to our screens as Wolverine, who is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth Deadpool.

The synopsis states that, together, they team up to defeat a common enemy.

The pair previously starred alongside one another in the 2009 film 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'.
