WORK on the railway line through Wrexham will be "noisy and disruptive" for residents, Network Rail has warned.
The work on the line between Wrexham General and Wrexham Central stations begins this weekend.
Network Rail said the work involves removing and replacing track and ballast (the rocks that secure the track).
The first weekend of continuous work begins at 12.25am on Saturday (January 27) until 5.20am on Monday (January 29).

Further work then takes place on the following dates and times:
- From 12.25am on Sunday, February 4 until 5.20am on Monday, February 5
- From 12.25am on Saturday, February 10 until 5.20am on Monday, February 12
- From 12.20am on Tuesday, February 13 until 5.30am on Friday, February 16
- Sunday, February 18 from 12.20am to 5.30am
- From 12.20am on Tuesday, February 20 until 8.25am on Friday, February 23
- Between 12.20am until 8.25am ech Sunday from February 25 to March 24
Network Rail said that the work will be "noisy and disruptive", and has apologised in advance for any disruption caused.
It added that some train services will be disrupted as a result of the work, and urged people to check timetables before travelling.
