A SCHOOL in Flintshire has been forced to close due to a burst water main.
St David's High School in Saltney is closed today (January 22) following a burst water main on-site.
The school confirmed the closure to parents on their Facebook page yesterday afternoon stating it was "a challenge to maintain a safe and suitable environment for teaching and learning."
Not long after warning parents there could be a possible closure, the school confirmed that it would have to shut its doors.
A spokesperson for St David's said: "We regret to inform you that due to a burst water main on site, St. David's will possibly be closed tomorrow, Monday 22nd January 2024.
"The incident has impacted our water supply, making it a challenge to maintain a safe and suitable environment for teaching and learning.

"The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and this possible closure is a precautionary measure. Our maintenance team is actively working on resolving the issue, and we will keep you updated on the progress via email and our School Facebook page.
"We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this unforeseen circumstance and anticipate resuming normal school activities as soon as possible."
The school later added: "Further to the email sent this afternoon this is to confirm the closure of St. David's High School tomorrow, Monday 22nd January 2024.
"We will keep you updated on the progress via email and our School Facebook page."
