A SCHOOL in Flintshire has been forced to close due to a burst water main. 

St David's High School in Saltney is closed today (January 22) following a burst water main on-site. 

The school confirmed the closure to parents on their Facebook page yesterday afternoon stating it was "a challenge to maintain a safe and suitable environment for teaching and learning."

Not long after warning parents there could be a possible closure, the school confirmed that it would have to shut its doors.

A spokesperson for St David's said: "We regret to inform you that due to a burst water main on site, St. David's will possibly be closed tomorrow, Monday 22nd January 2024.

"The incident has impacted our water supply, making it a challenge to maintain a safe and suitable environment for teaching and learning.
