IT'S set to be a very mixed weekend weather-wise in Wrexham and Flintshire. 

North Wales has been hit with sustained spells of snow and ice over the course of this week, with a number of yellow weather warnings in place. 

The worst of the cold temperatures look set to have passed, with the forecast suggesting a rise over the coming days. 

weather warning was in place for ice across Wrexham and Flintshire which came to an end at 10am this morning with the rest of the day expected to be dry with highs of 5C. 

Tomorrow is more of the same, a dry day with highs of 8C, before temperatures drop overnight. 

A yellow weather warning for wind is in place from 6am on Sunday until 6am on Monday, with gusts up to 50mph expected across Wrexham and Flintshire. 

Rain is also expected to hit on Sunday and early next week, with weather warnings in place across North Wales for rain, but they are not set to affect Wrexham and Flintshire at this stage. 

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Today: Frosty start with icy stretches possible and freezing fog patches taking a while to clear in places. A dry day follows with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. Temperatures slightly higher than of late, but still feeling cold. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
