THE LATEST house price figures for both Flintshire and Wrexham have been revealed.
House prices increased slightly, by 0.1%, in Flintshire in November, new figures show.
During that same time, house prices dropped by 0.5% – more than the average for Wales – in Wrexham.
The average Flintshire house price in November was £218,270, Land Registry figures show – a 0.1% increase on October.
The same figures show that, in Wrexham, the average was £199,929 – a 0.5% decrease on October.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Flintshire rose by £320 – putting the area sixth among Wales’s 22 local authorities with price data for annual growth.
Meanwhile, the average sale price of property in Wrexham fell by £8,800 – putting the area 14th on the list.
First steps on the property ladder
First-time buyers in Flintshire spent an average of £183,169 on their property – £25 more than a year ago, and £41,068 more than in November 2018.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £245,347 on average in November – 33.9% more than first-time buyers.
First-time buyers in Wrexham spent an average of £173,300 on their property – £8,200 less than a year ago, but £37,100 more than in November 2018.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £229,500 on average in November – 32.4% more than first-time buyers.

Property types
Owners of flats saw the biggest rise in property prices in Flintshire in November – they increased 0.9%, to £100,913 on average. Over the last year, prices dropped by 0.8%.
Owners of terraced houses saw the biggest fall in property prices in Wrexham in November – they dropped 0.9% in price, to £149,875 on average. Over the last year, prices dropped by 5.3%.
How do property prices in Flintshire and Wrexham compare?
Buyers paid 2.5% more than the average price in Wales (£213,000) in November for a property in Flintshire and 6.1% less than the Welsh average in Wrexham.
Across Wales, property prices are low compared to those across the UK, where the average cost is £285,000.
The most expensive properties in Wales were in Monmouthshire – £358,000 on average, and 1.6 times the price as in Flintshire. Monmouthshire properties cost 2.9 times the price as homes in Blaenau Gwent (£123,000 average), at the other end of the scale.
