Couple: Lucy and Tom Bates, from Wrexham
Wedding: October 21, 2023 at Plas Isaf, Corwen. Also the venue for the reception.
How did you meet? Through Llangollen Scouts group on a camp.
Proposal: Tromso, Norway under the Northern Lights.
Where were the dress/suits from? Dress was from Lady Jane Bridal, Wrexham and suits were Matalan.
Flowers, hair/makeup: Flowers were a gift from my sister-in-law and she used a florist in Oswestry I believe and hair was by one of my bridesmaids, who is also a hairdresser. I wore minimal make up and applied it myself.
Photographer: Ian John Cook Photography, highly recommended.
Best man/bridesmaids: Best men - father-in father-in law and life long best friend of husband, plus four other groomsmen, maid of honour was Beth, then I had five other bridesmaids. We also had two page boys, a flower girl and our dog Loki was our ring bearer.
What was the best part of the day? We are expecting a baby early February and we had a gender reveal. We're having a boy!
Anyone to thank for helping make the day special? Literally everyone but in particular our parents and best men/maid of honour. Sister-in-law for flowers, bridesmaid for hair and another bridesmaid made our cake.
Honeymoon? We went to Pembrokeshire for a week, stayed in a shepherd's hut and went to beaches and castles.
Any advice for anyone planning their wedding? Sometimes less is more. You don't need to break the bank to marry the love of your life.
Tying the knot
