THE LANDLADY of a Flintshire pub has bid farewell to it after nearly a decade in charge.
The Royal Oak in Holywell has been run by Emma Fletcher and her staff for the last nine years.
But, she has now decided to move on to pastures new to 'enjoy family life'.
Speaking to the Leader, she said: "I decided to take the pub on 9 years ago to move back to Holywell from Bangor to be closer to family and friends. My fondest memories has to be the people. They started out as customers nine years ago and they are now friends and family.
"We've had some great days and nights at the Oak. The Kids' Halloween Party has always been a massive day in the calendar and so has Christmas Dinner with Santa.
"The hot summer days sat in the beer garden and the weekly quiz and poker league have been great additions. There are too many to mention as we have lots of great memories."

Although it was run by Emma, the Royal Oak is owned by Halls Property Company Limited.
She said the firm is looking to bring in a new owner to keep the pub up and running.
Emma added: "I’m moving on as it is time for me to do something different and enjoy family life. I have enjoyed my time but I’m tired now and ready for a rest. The owners are hoping to find new tenants.
"It was fantastic to see so many people turn up to say their goodbyes on my final trading day on Saturday, January 6.
