A WREXHAM-based dog food business is set to expand to its own unit following huge success within its first year of launching.
Joshua Topham, Wrex Raw founder, opened the business in October 2022 on Rackery Lane in Llay, providing quality raw dog food at an affordable price.
Since then, the business has come on leaps and bounds and is more successful than Joshua, 28, and his partner, Billie-Jo Wood, could ever have imagined.
After starting a delivery service within a 40-mile radius last January, the business has now been given the opportunity to expand into its own unit just 0.5 miles from its current location, still delivering nationwide and to local customers, as well as people being able to come in and buy in-store.
It is also in line for a national award!
Joshua said: "The new premises is much bigger making it easier to load up.
"There's loads of space and we have loads of surprises coming. We've got our own little compound and private area so customers can roll up the shutters and load their vans and cars.
"We have room for a fridge and about three 20ft freezers so we won't be running out of anything. We'll be open the first week of February with updates to come.
"I never thought I’d have my own business, and the support I’ve had from customers and how the client base has grown is unbelievable sometimes. The rapid expansion has been really stressful but worth every second and I’m really excited for the future”
"Our new unit will be on ninth avenue on Llay, moving from the llay industrial estate. We’ve gone from a tiny room to a whole compound!"
The company has also been donating prizes for charities such as SANDS, Jenson's Gift Galore and other local organisations.
However, before his success, Joshua was faced with homelessness at the age of 16 before finishing his GCSE's. With the support of his family, he has since found his true passion.
It was at that age that he became a father which he describes as being the flick in his brain that he needed to get a job.
