NORTH Wales Police have released an appeal to Flintshire residents to identify a man following a suspected break in attempt.

Police have confirmed a report involving a male trying a door handle and interfering with a key safe lock on a residents property in the Riverbank area, Bagillt.

The male was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.

Police patrolled the Riverbank area earlier today (January 7) and have shared an image from footage captured. 

A police spokesperson said: "The coat and balaclava are distinctive, therefore if you know who this person may be please contact us. Do not name them in the comments please.

"If you have CCTV in the area please review this and get in touch if you notice anything suspicious. We will be conducting further high visibility patrols in the area."

Residents in the area are being advised to ensure all doors are locked and personal belongings are safe and secure.
