A MAIN road in Wrexham is closed this afternoon (January 3) due to flooding.
Wrexham Council has confirmed that the A525 has been closed between Bangor-on-Dee and Cross Lanes.
The B5426 Straight Mile near the village is also closed.
Flood alerts for the Bangor-on-Dee area have been in place since Tuesday morning. Natural Resources Wales warned that both roads could flood.
A spokesperson said: "River levels are expected to be above normal. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected. Flooding is also possible for the B5426 Straight Mile and A525 roads if conditions deteriorate further.
"Property flooding in Bangor on Dee is not expected at this time, although some localised flooding problems may result from surface water."
