POLICE are urging people to keep vehicles secure after thefts in the Flintshire area.
North Wales Police said on Tuesday (January 2) that it has received two separate reports of a person caught on CCTV trying to open car door handles and stealing vehicle registration plates in the Hollowbrook Drive area of Connah's Quay.
It also received a report of Christmas presents being stolen from a vehicle in the Ffordd Pentre area in Carmel, near Holywell.

Police have urged people to consider the following security advice to reduce the chances of you becoming victim of a similar incident:
- Physically check that your vehicle is locked when unoccupied.
- Don't leave valuables in the vehicle when it is unoccupied, if this is not possible then make sure that they aren't on show to passers by.
- Consider purchasing CCTV to cover the area where the vehicle is parked.
- Consider purchasing security lighting which covers the area where the vehicle is parked.
