A FLINTSHIRE woman's life has been transformed after she start a weight loss journey and ended up dropping half her body weight.

Sheryl Williams, a member of the Flint Slimming World group, has lost 10 stone and received the Slimming World Golden Club 50 Award.

The 26-year-old said: "I have gone down six dress sizes. It's absolutely amazing. It's been an unbelievable weightloss journey and one I did not think I could achieve."

Sheryl started her weight loss journey after a friend recommended Slimming Worlds and that it wouldn't mean giving up her social life.

She said: "Before I joined Slimming World I never did any exercise. I would just stay home and play on the games console. It was ridiculous. I needed to do something.

"My friend Kelly had joined Emily Hill's group in Flint Town Hall and was having amazing success. Kelly had told me the food she was eating and how she was never hungry she was still eating her favourite meals, not having to cook anything different for everyone else and that nothing was 'banned'."

This gave Sheryl the reassurance she needed, so she took those first steps and went along and joined Emily's group in January.

Sherlyl embraced activities she enjoyed and at her own pace, and is now loving activity again, something she never thought possible

Sheryl has not missed a single Slimming Word session since joining, except for her holidays, she has new found positivity to enjoy. She's been to Australia and America, something she never thought she would have the confidence to do.

The Slimming Worlds Golden Club 50 award was introduced in 2019 to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary and is given to members who lost 50 per cent of their initial weight.

Proud Slimming World consultant Emily presented the award to Sheryl during one of their classes.

Emily said: "This is a very rare award. It was amazing to present this award to Sheryl. She is the first person in Flintshire to achieve this outstanding achievement.

"I'm so pleased for her and cannot praise Sheryl enough for all her determination and commitment to attending group every week to get the help and support from myself and the members.

"We know changing habits takes effort and support and without the right support its easy to give up on yourself."

Sheryl added: "I have been motivated to keep going on my journey through the enthusiasm of my group members and my wonderful consultant Emily, who is always there to answer any questions and provide advice. I now have so much more confidence. I'm living my best life."
