PLANS for a new McDonald's drive-thru restaurant in Flintshire have been given the go-ahead.
Flintshire Council's planning department has approved a series of applications in relation to a new restaurant at the former Pizza Hut site on Deeside Retail Park in Shotton.
Shotton Town Council had objected to the plans over fears of increased litter issues in the area and it also expressed concerns over opening times and the impact noise would have on people living nearby.
A resident living on Chester Road East also objected to the application amid fears over potential traffic, noise, and anti-social behaviour.

McDonald's has confirmed that the restaurant will have a drive-thru facility.
A spokesperson for the fast food chain said: “We are excited to be bringing a new restaurant to Queensferry, bringing significant investment to the local area as well as creating at least 120 full and part time jobs."
Planning conditions listed on the council's website state that the restaurant shall be open for business only between the hours of 6am and midnight.
