Cast tell us what audiences can expect at Venue Cymru's Peter Pan!

We had a chance to meet the cast during rehearsals on what has become a Christmas highlight for many of us in North Wales.

This year will be no different as they bring us Peter Pan which, with the aid of fairy dust, is perhaps the most spectacular panto.

Yes, they will fly, they promise!

And there will be so much more for people of all ages when Wendy and her brothers encounter the mysterious Peter, the boy who never grows old, and they are whisked off to the magical island of Neverland.

Directed again by Jason Marc-Williams who also plays the boo-worthy villain Captain Hook.

He is joined by Venue Cymru favourites John Evans and James Lusted, who are joined this year by Carley Stenson, Jon Clayton and Georgia Conwy.

TV and musical theatre star Carley Stenson will star as as the cheeky Tinker Bell.

Georgia Conwy (Wendy), Jon Clayton (Peter), and Carley Stenson (Tinkerbell).

Carley is best known for playing Steph Cunningham in the Channel 4 series Hollyoaks for which she was nominated for Best Actress and Best Comedy Actress at the NTAs and British Soap Awards.

Her recent credits include Fantine in Les Miserables in the West End and Georgia Hendricks in Curtains (West End and UK tour).

But she told us that when it comes to panto, her first as a mum, it's her daughter that's her fiercest critic.

She said: "You always want to play a fairy or a princess, don't you? And this Tinker Bell is feisty.

"My daughter loves Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, so I'm just hammering that home. It's just magical and special. So, hopefully, my daughter will enjoy it and won't be screaming at me to get off the stage.

John and James, who have built up a fabulous rapport with Jason, say that audiences are in for a treat.

John said: "It's amazing, it really is good.

"It's got something for everybody - a bit of romance, growing up and that yearning for childhood that we all have. It's a wonderful thing, it's magical."

James said: "It's going to be full of surprises, full of magic. Expect the unexpected!

"Pantomime is for everyone. It's for the children, the adults, the grandparents, and this show has something for absolutely everyone. It's going to be a great show once again."

So, could this be Venue Cymru's best panto yet?

Jason said: "This year, the 'adventureness' of Peter Pan is really helping us. I'm exciting by it, it has upped the game.

Peter Pan starts its run at Venue Cymru on December 9.
