OUR READERS have been getting in touch with us to tell us what their favourite Christmas film is as the festive period gets underway.

As Christmas Day draws ever nearer, many of us will be looking forward to wrapping up warm on the sofa to enjoy some classic movies.

With that in mind, we asked our readers to tell us what their favourite Christmas films of all time were.

We received nearly 300 answers underneath our Facebook post.

Here are some of the best of them...

Jayne Hughes wrote: "It’s a Wonderful Life, my favourite film in black and white."

Brandi Walsh Foster added: "The Holiday ... but if we need to be super Christmassy then I would say A Christmas Carol starring Alistair Sim."
