HUNDREDS of people turned out to enjoy Johnstown's Christmas lights switch on last night (November 24).
In the build up to Christmas, communities across Wrexham and Flintshire are coming together to get into the festive spirit.
The cold weather didn't affect residents in Johnstown, who turned out in their numbers to enjoy the evening.
Organisers say around 400-500 people were in attendance throughout the night.
The switch-on was held at St Mary's Church on Merlin Road, where inside there were more than 20 festive stalls on offer.
Pupils from Ysgol Hafod sang Christmas carols before Santa arrived to complete the switch-on.
Local councillor David A Bithell, who helped organise the event was delighted with the turnout.
He said: "Really good night with hundreds who turned out on a very cold night.
"The children really enjoyed the night and we raised lots of money for local community groups.
"Overall we probably had around 400-500 people here which is brilliant and I'd imagine we've raised around £900.

"While that is great, as the money goes back into the community here, it's all about bringing people together.
"To see so many people out enjoying the evening was brilliant and it was a great night.
"Big thanks to Rhos Community Council, Fry fresh and Quantum Traffic Management who supported and sponsored the event."
The evening was very well received by locals.
One resident said: "It's so nice to see everyone come down to see the switch on. It's a cold night and that could've put people off but it didn't and it shows the community spirit here."
Another added: "Brilliant night at the switch on, thanks to everyone who organised. Great to see so many there."
