PLANS for 90 homes in Flintshire have been backed for approval.
Stewart Milne Homes Ltd is proposing to develop land to the south of New Brighton Road in New Brighton, near Mold.
A total of 36 of the 90 homes would be classed as "affordable", and there would be a £36,000 contribution towards Ysgol Sychdyn.
Nearly 50 objections to the applications raised by members of the local community, and Argoed Community has raised concerns over increased traffic and drainage capacity.
However, Flintshire Council's planning officials have recommended the planning committee approve the application at next week's planning meeting.
The site has been subject to refused planning applications in the past, with a similar application dismissed on appeal in 2021.

Planning officers said: "The site is an allocated housing site in the LDP. The sustainable nature of the development and its location, that would also provide the full complement of affordable housing in accordance with the relevant policy requirement, suggest that the development is acceptable in principle.
"Problems with the development of this site previously identified have now been overcome and as such it is recommended that the application is approved subject to the commuted sums and conditions."
The application will be decided on by Flintshire Council's planning committee next Wednesday.
