A MAN who had suffered with mental health problems since his school days had a fixation about an alleged altercation in March, 2022, an inquest heard.

At a hearing in Ruthin, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said Paul Nolan was apparently obsessed by the incident which he claimed had occurred in Wrexham.

Mr Nolan, 35, died after jumping in front of a train as it pulled into Wrexham's General Station on December 21, 2022.

The inquest heard that Mr Nolan shared his time between his partner's home in Coed Aben, Wrexham, and his mother's home in Hatton Hill Road, Litherland, in Liverpool, and came under the care of mental health services in both areas in turn.

In a psychiatric report he was described as "delusional".

On December 21 he said he was going to return to Liverpool after failing to resolve some issues with his partner.

Recording a conclusion of suicide, the coroner said: "It is very clear that he was incredibly disturbed. It was an illness and he was very well supported."
